People:Myself (Hooker)and my dad
Duration:1-4.30pm
Tide:Last of the ebb first of the rise as far as I could tell.
Weather:Calm and cold
Bait: Black wraps and frozen peeler
Rigs: Pulley penell, 3down, 2up 1 down
Results: Dabs (couple up around the 28/29cm), whiting and missed a good bite on the big bait,

Report: The Da and myself got out for the first time in a while and caught a few fish, kept a big bait in the water in a hope of chancing a codling that are aparently knocking around the area. Courtown Angling Centre has a sale on with some good rods at good prices etc. Worth a look if your near by.
First time Dad or myself have ever seen a fish take all three baits.

Re: Courtown 09/12/11
Was a lovely day, great to get out, cheeks are a bit rosy here from the eind and sun, Workin too much lately and it's all indoors with filtered air and flourescent lights. I'm 20 odd years and dad 40yrs and we've and caught a hell alot of dabs fishing the beaches and regularly get a fish take two baits but never 3. This particular mark for some reason a 3 down trace will outfish a flapper, maybe thats why he managed all 3. Think it's due to the tide ru and height above the water there that flapper rigs don't fish the bottom well. They were nearly all in top condition and a good stamp, no sores or ulcers like we see most time on at least one or two fish. Actually tying a few rigs and servicing my reels sitting here planning on an all dayer tommorow, hangover permitting

If I reckoned on a couple that big I'd have kept them and had dab for tea. They were an inch thick and as healthy as i've seen em down here in years. Used to get propper dabs in a spot near ballymoney as a kid (when 1/0 was small) about the pound with some nice red gurnards thrown in. Gimme a gurnard anytime for tea!
