Here we go again

Forget about deep bellies, smaller scales, a bigger smile or where they came from or how they ducked the bucket brigade to get here.

This is the only way to be dead sure of the ID before they are all dead and on someone's plate for dinner

The Poor Cod: The first anal fin begins behind the first dorsal fin

The Pouting: the first anal fin begins under the first dorsal fin

The best way to renenber is the poor cod has the poorer (lesser) anal fin

Well done Donal :D :D :D :D :D

On the plevic fins ---- I use: "pouting past" (that is in a pout the pelvic fin go beyond the vent. A poor cod the fins only reach the vent)

large pouting make fairly decent eating flesh is very delicate, they should be gutted straight away and kept very cool with ice packs, and eaten as soon as possible as in the same day they are caught
