waterfoot pier
time: 7pm-11.45pm
tide: high at 12ish
bait: mackrel, sandeel, mussel (crab see report lol)
weather: windy fairly cold but dry at least
results: 6 small coalies <20cm :( 1 decimated crab
decided to try out waterfoot cuz we hadnt been out in ages. results were fairly poor with not much being caught but sea was heavy so might have accounted for lack of some other than the coalies.
only thing of any note was a crab had managed to hook its self on my mussel bait. the rod was thumping away every min or 2. when i brought it in i discoverd the crab but noticed it was missing all but 2 legs and its shell was broke across its back. definately wasnt peeling either!!! can only assume something was picking at while it was hooked. nothing came off the crab chucked it back in but must have came unhooked on impact.
was expecting to see at least some doggies or maybe a few flatties or is it still a bit early???
