Small fixed spool to pair with Bass rod advice

#1 Post by dave316 »

I have a Sonik Bass rod from a few years ago which I use for light beach fishing and mess-about local sessions for generally small fish when I just want to get out for a couple of hours spur of the moment. I never did get round to buying a small reel to go with it and as I have a young family I no longer keep up to date with the latest tackle or even get time to read the magazines any more. I'm just looking a decent wee reel that will last a while and will be loading it with braid and 30lb leader and generally using 3-4oz leads. I do usually spend £100-150 on my bigger reels, but would like to pick up something for around £30-40 to go with this rod. A few years back my head would have been like a fishing catalogue, but now i'm clueless as to what's on offer and prices so hopefully someone can recommend something.

Thankyou

Thankyou, looks like a nice wee reel, would the 4000 be a nice size?
