#1 Post by jw »

People: romofa, jimclarke, viper, luke and jw

Duration: 0900-1730

Tide: spring tide

Weather: ebbing against westerly breeze heading down the estuary, grand conditions out to sea

Bait: mackerel

Rigs: redgills, shads muppets

Results: mackerel, pollack, cod, spur dogs, ling, whiting, red gurnard, poor cod

Report:

mackerel plentiful at loop head, sunfish also hanging around there. The whole area is stuffed
with pollack 5-8lbs, good cod fishing sizes from 5 to 10lbs, spurdogs plentiful all over.
steady ling fishing as well, baited muppet working best in this area. We only got 1 whiting
and didn't see a single haddock

Well done lads,

that’s a wicked picture of the fog around the pier - did the fog hang around at the head for long ? Seeing them pictures of the Cod is making me want to get the boat back down to the coast already.

well done jw they are top quality fish .its very strange fishing in a fog we could hear people talking but could not see them, only a half mile away on the radar. we had one mackeral for the whole day and caught most of our cod with it .
