thinking of ferry point tomorrow any1 know what the weed is like there i know it has been bad earlier in the weeks? has it cleared up any bit???????

Hi lads,
after been laid up for months eventually felt up for a session.I hit ballybranigan but totally unfishable with weed all along the beach .Don't be fooled it looks very fishy but not worth the effort.On the other hand garryvoe despite been weedy it is fishable! 8)

Hi Red, was down Garryvoe on Sunday, wasnt fishing but the place looked clean!
Species 2011: Bass, Codling, Conger, Flounder, Dab, LSD, Pollock, Whiting, Poor Cod, 3 Bearded Rockling, Turbot, Huss, Mackeral, Smoothound (pup), Coalie.

Species 2012: Coalie, Dogfish, 3 beard rockling,

Had a quick walk with the dog today down garryvoe way and ive never seen so much weed right across the bay.Looked very heavy and id imagine would make fishing very hard.

I tried a beach on the other side of ballycotton tuesday night and it was horrendous, lots of small floating weed that quickly became a huge clump on the trace and had the rod buckled. Moved to ballycotton pier instead and had plenty of tiny whiting mixed with the odd dog and small eel

fished a beach around the corner from ballycotton last night very little weed but a huge surf .but fishable

took a walk along ballycrowneen/ballybranagan yesterday evening & while there's no weed on the beach itself...you could see alot of it in the surf,,id say definatley unfishible
hope this will save someone a journey :)

ferrypoint lots of weed up till 1 hour b4 hw and then again 1 hour after no fish 7/10
ballyquin no weed at all but not many fish 7/10

fished ballybranigan sunday top of tide lot of weed down beach up close to car park seemed fishable anyone know what garyvoe beaches like thinking of headin tonight :?:
