Mackerel off the beach

Does anyone know off a spot to get mackerel off the beach, in south dublin or north wicklow. I am looking to get some fresh mackerel for bait. Just don't want be stuck on a pier with the bashers, just want go out for an hour or so and get fresh bait
Species 2011:coalie,whiting, 5bearded rockling,shore rockling, doggie, pollock,flounder,codling,dab,smoothhound,sea scorpion,ballan wrasse,Tope, tub gurnard, gray gurnard,plaice,bass,Bullhuss,cod

Species 2012:coalie,doggie,codling,shore and 5bearded rockling,3bearded rockling,pouting,whiting,wrasse,bass,plaice,flounder,dab,smoothhound,hiss,tope,cod,tub and gray gurnard,Pollack

Species 2013:Double figure smoothy off the beach,doggie,gray gurnard,codling,goalie,flounder,plaice,whiting,tope. Double figure huss off the beach,dab, bass,pouting,silver eel.

good few on south beach greystones yesterday

Kilcoole is quite good as well
Species list 2011 - Bass, Dab, Rockling, Dogfish,Common Smooth hound, Starry Smooth hound,whiting,pollock

There is loads of space off Dun Laoghaire pier that you won't get caught up with others. West pier (one nearest city centre) is probably the best. Few mackerel in there at the minute.

Have had Mac and launce of Killiney Beach in the past, but haven't tried it this year!

Al was talking with one of the lads and they said they were running well in that area ;) might give it a go when i get some free time
