Day 1 Ventry:
We started of the annual Kerry weekend on ventry fishing the rise from 13:30 til 18:30. Fishing was better than last year with plenty of dogs and Huss Eeler had a 114cm Conger early doors and blew the weekend pools away 15mins in, JP was hammering Dogs with 12 in his first six cast's and went on to win by a mile, Gordy was catching consistantly through the day and took second place with Dogs and Huss, Al and Donal D where getting pollock and wrasse on crab baits and unfortunatley the lads on the high pegs struggled with only David getting a 27cm flounder..

Day2 Inch strand 13:00 to 17:00..
We kicked of at one a clock the next day on Inch after a few quiet pints in the town sat night, There was a nice foamy surf and hope's were high of some good fish, Early on it was apparent that the beach was thick with undersize flounders
and everyone struggled to get through them, Don, Mick David and Myself managed the only Bass caught but nothing big.

Re: SAI Master angler 4/5 Dingle Co Kerry..
well done to all the prize winners, especially eeler with that fine conger! sounds like the kingdom was as kind as ever.
sick i couldnt make it down myself
I hope sligo can match that fishing, ive had one session for tope on trawee beach 2 weeks ago and failed.
But i've caught plenty in sligo bay so far this year so we should be in with a shout on the day.

Yeah it was a great weekend, fingers crossed trawee will fish well.
What species are to be expected on trawee? I know nothing about that beach at all.

Fished trawee last year in september and had flounder and coalies to 40 cm, turbot, dogfish and a couple of runs from tope
none landed but thats to be expected with 20lb snoods!
