Galway bay sailing club (renville) 24/07/11

#1 Post by Flic »

People:Just me

Duration:4 hours

Tide:Starting at low tide

Weather:Cloudy, but not raining. Low wind

Bait:Mac

Rigs:

Results:x1 small sea trout only around 5-6 inches.

Report:So as i live in Reniville i tend to head down by the sailing club now and then, over the last 3 months i have only caught 2 fish, x1 small sea trout today and around 2 months ago a much larger trout. The water is very clear and seems very shallow around this part. The weed and craps are a nightmare, but i stall haven't lost any tackle down there.

I hope i have managed to upload the photo of my bigger trout ok :D

Cracking fish! You don't say in your post if it was released or not, I'm going to presume you did.

Just to remind anyone reading this that all sea trout caught in the Galway region (from north Clare all the way round to north of Clew Bay) must by law be released alive. NO sea trout may be kept.
Its called fishing, not catching. If it was called catching it wouldn't be fishing!

It was indeed released back. On a side note went for a walk around the sailing club the other day and seen 2 more trout in around the sea weed. A few fair size ones i must say.
