Galway Bay 23/7/11

#1 Post by Peter Kinsella »

People: Me

Duration: 0800 to 1700

Tide: Up then down - neap

Weather: Dull all day

Bait: Mackerel

Rigs: Feathers, pirks and paternoster

Results:Mackerel, pollock, cod, haddock, red band, tope, wrasse and whiting.

Not exactly hectic fishing but a nice selection of species. Mackerel were scarce and tope plentiful.
First red band and haddock of the year.

Was about 40cm length. It took mackerel strip baited feathers near to the sea bed = 25m depth.
