Report:

Went out on Saturday night for a short session on a local beach which turned in to a great flounder session finished with about ten all good size caught on lug tipped with mac
Went to a local pier on Weds when i got there there were a few people packing up i asked if they had caught as i was only really going for wrasse and conger . they showed me a bag with about 20 ballan wrasse in all a nice size i didn't say much about it just started to tackle up .
i then heard them arguing over who should take the fish as they wouldn't eat them or they didn't know how to prep them i know they were just going to end up in the bin when they got home , can't understand why people kill fish if they aren't going to eat them just a waste and wrecks spots for other anglers.
which is a pity as i wanted to take my boy to this place as its pretty safe and i thought he would catch they left and i started fishing .
I put out 2 rods for conger with mac and fished a 1 hook flapper for wrasse they had left a few wrasse corkwing and ballan pictures below if i can upload them.
Caught about 30 wrasse of various sizes stopped to check the other rods bait was gone on one the other untouched re baited and dropped it back down the side .
Had a little break and watched the conger rods for 1/2 an hour there was no movement in the rods and the clutch didnt click on the reel. picked up the the and bang solid resistance started to wind in and i could feel a fish pulling back took a bit of line then up popped a nice conger. got it on the pier.
It had taken the whole bait down had to cut the line as close to the hook as i could and let him go he swam of didnt seem to badly shaken he must have just swallowed the bait and sat there as the no bite registered .
fished on for a bit caught more wrasse then went home.
nice easy days fishing feel a bit guilty about leaving the hook in the conger and mad about the fish killers who were there when i got to the pier.

well done mate great fishing was there any size to the conger also i use www.shrinkpictures.com it very handy to use just make sure your pic is less than 1000 pixels and at the end of your report there is section called add atachment click into this and browes the photo you want to upload and then add to your report

Thanks for that tight lines will try to post the pics . conger was a about 7-8 pounds i think irst of the year so i am happy with that

nice wee catch, pity about the bag of fish, things like that make a lot of fishermen angry, as for the conger, what kind of hook was it, it could rust quickly and not effect the conger much
