Shore caught shark??

#1 Post by Caz-Galway »

Hi All,

I have heard a report about some sort of shark caught in Kilrush last week from the pier. Its from a friend of mine whos mother lives there. Local reports say it was 6ft long and caught by someone fishing for Conger. Could be a cock and bull story but I'm not so sure. Anyone heard anything?? Big tope maybe???

It was probably more than likely a big tope as they are caught from the pier now and again :D

A few years ago porbeagles were regularly caught from the Clare coast but more from Rocky cliffs, I agree it was more likely to be a tope.
