MY 1st EVER RAY FAHAN BEACH 9th JULY

People:me, neil, martin

Duration:3pm 12 midnight

Tide:low tide

Weather:cloudy but dry

Bait:sandeels, mackerel

Rigs:pennel pullys

Results: 9 thornback ray, biggest 7lb




Report:

We headed to fahan to get my fist ever ray and i finally got 1. im goin to be short and sweet cause im in a hurry but im well pleased i got my first ever ray,u couldnt wipe the smile of my face on saterday. we ended up with 3 each. great craic and great sport and a lovely spot 2 fish. :D :D :D

savage fish there man, did the sandeels or mack work better ?
2011 species: pollock,mackeral,coalfish,whiting,codling,conger,flounder,dogfish,pouting.Not bad for my first few months fishing :)

2012 species: Coalfish (13), Bass (1), Rockling (5), Ballan wrasse (2), Pollock (57), Dogfish (8),
Whiting (1), Conger (1)

Thanks m8, i couldnt tell ya what works best cause we were using sandeel and mackerel cocktails. but i hear other people saying that sandeels r the best bait for ray.

great to see you got your target species man. well done. this is one of the bigger one's jordan got from the marina breakwater. we tend to find the bigger ones down there :wink:
