Shoal close to shore! What fish though?
I was out for a walk this afternooon, walking along a very still body of water inside a bay. I noticed a small shoal of fish jumping and breaking the water's surface a couple of metres from the shore line?
What I couldn't tell though is the species of fish that it might be. Can anyone offer any help in terms of what species this is likely to be?

Almost certainly mullet. And if you ever catch one you'll definitely change you're mind about how energetic they are!
