Bull Huss from Dogfish ID
Just thought I'd put this up to help beginners (myself included) to identify small Bull Huss from Dogfish. Also like myself many others have posted here asking for ID and it always opens a can of worms (shout out to the fella with the picture
). While out fishing last weekend I lobbed a Mack/Sandeel bait out and caught this fella, my first Huss and after checking nearly every bloody Doggie I've ever caught I knew straight away this was a Huss. Besides the fact that the nasal flaps stick out and the skin is much more yellowy (beach caught Huss anyway) they give a great little fight and have more needles in their mouth than a sugar junkie in a dentists chair...

  but hope it helps...

If only Doggies gave as a good of a fight I'd be up in Balscadden every night!

Savage looking husss.
I have caught hundreds of huss over the years but have yet to get a white one.
Its certainly something I have wanted to catch for a long time.

Are ya talking about my pic or the one on PSF mate? My pic is very over exposed but its basically a smaller version of the one on PSF. Amazing looking fish.Rampent Wreckfish wrote:Savage looking husss.
