Report: The kids had gotten new wetsuits for our achill holiday and insisted on trying them out so after a little negotiation we headed for the beach with rods and worms in hand
. arrived around half 6 and plenty of noise and swimmers so slowly baited up and sent out a single rod. Fishing was very slow till dusk when it starting showing a few bites,second rod baited up and put in close, started catching small flounder and the occasional tope/ smoothie pup. At this stage it was dark, the kids were outa the water and i set them up with their own rod each having turns in casting out (crash helmets welcome) and reeling in fish from small flounder and whiting, while i was getting a pup a cast and still hoping for a big one to come play
. At half elevn we called it and must say a very enjoyable nite had by all.p.s. lug and rag tipped with squid totaly outfished crab with the crab coming back untoutched most times
. Had similar results myself, pups etc. The pups will go for the smaller baits but i've also had them munching on big crab baits on 3/0's too
