Turbot seeking adventure

#1 Post by southaussie »

Hey guys Ive booked a house near achill island from the 8th august with wife and kids and was hoping to increase my species list, Ive never caught a turbot!!! or a wrasse, any tips marks or anyone who would like to meet up for a fish and a bit of a laugh, the 9 year old twins said I should go looking for the conger eel as well, I fished around keem bay with great success a few nice flatties a massive doggie and many mackeral.
Thanks in advance

P.s. I'm bringing limited gear cant fit it all in, spinning rod for some pollack, beachcasters for beach fishn, should I bring my 7ht or slosh20

Fish keel beach to the far left (looking out to sea). The further left you go the better it is.

Loads of turbot there to about the 3lb mark.

Long strips of the the belly part of a mackeral on fairly long 2 or 3 hook flappers and dont cast too far.

It can like all other beaches be hit and miss but you should get a few with a chance of a few good fish along with a few flounder.
UP THE DEISE!!!!!!!

If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation.

KStaff winning matches is the new black.
