Report:
The weather had been cat , as we say in this part of the country, for most of the day but I put my trust in Met Eireann and headed for Wexford in hope of a clearance coming in for the evening. Got off to a bad start when I forgot the bait

I got a doggie on the first cast, followed by a pup smoothie, both on the near rod on rag , tipped with squid. The other rod then got a thump of a bite and I was taken down the beach by a decent smoothie, which I eventually landed , happy days.
The lad nearest me kindly took a photo before I returned the fish to the water, me knees still trembling. What power these fish have, hard to hold still for a photo

I was up and down the beach all evening , to get photos of Rogers and Robbies smoothies, and couldnt believe it when I checked my phone and it was 11pm already.Roger had a particularly good one and Robbie lost a really big one just yards out in the surf

It went quiet after a while and I put out some mack which was picking up doggies, then I fished the 2 rods with large crab baits and got another decent smoothie on the mid distance rod about 50 metres out. Another doggie later and I was ready to pack up. Roger and Robbie had just left, all of us happy with a good nights fishing. Great to have these fish put a bend in the rods and nice to be able to write a report featuring a few decent fish for a change
