RATHLIN ISLAND 3rd 4th JUNE

Great trip lads, and youve inspired me to try rathlin with the son and son in law. It would be a bloody good weekend.

thanks billy, if ya need ne info pm me, its a good spot too fish but be prepared to walk cause its a minimum of a 2 mile hike with all the gear to the fishing spots. thanks!!!

nice one lads. we've always intended on fishing rathlin but never got 2 days of decent weather forecast when we've been free . i did a bit of research on it last year and got some good info on decent pollck marks off the end of rue point. a bit of a trek i know, but john was showing me some of the pics of the 5lb+ pollack they had from there in 2009. so it would be well worth the hike

hey, im confident that if you ask one of the locals to transport yous to wherever yous want to go on the island (for a few quid petrol money...) then im sure they would be happy to do so if possible. throw all the gear on the back of a tractor or sumthin. no prob, for sure.
would like a trip over myself too. some nice trout fishin over there too i heard.

thanks chuck, its a great spot too fish. u should def take a trip, its well worth it. there is a couple of trout lakes alright and i heard there is good sized trout being caught out of them. i got a lift the first time i was over a good couple of years back but there was nobody about this time i asked in the pub and they said there was no locals about so we just hiked on. hopefully get a lift next time.

No worries mate! It is a bit of a hike to the north side but it's well worth it and if you camp in church bay its a lot closer. Here's a few pics from my last trip..

no bother mate, never new you could fish the north of the island i always thought it was high cliffs but as u can see in the pics u can get down below them, thanks mate!!!

i'm the same boss - never knew that at all or i'd be over like a shot - have you ever seen the admiralty charts for the back of the island, there are some seriously deeps waters out there.

dave i seen a chart in the pub on the island but never read. ill def read it the next time im over to see what depth the back of the island is. i wonder would there be a chance at tope.

i was looking for charts of the island on the net but cant get 1, i must have a good look at the 1 in the pub on the island when i go back then ull know for certain what spot holds the deepest water
