A walk and a fish near Bantry - pointers gladly received...

#1 Post by blackiemc »

Hi all,
Late in the day I know, but someone might have a pointer for me.

Meself and my better half are heading to Bantry tomorrow for the weekend.

Any nice deep spots for early mack or maybe a pollack, anywhere that's on a bit of a walk (Sheeps Head??) or anything similar would be a bonus. Anywhere within reach of Bantry.
(Or any nice walks for that matter??)

Thanks

Blackie

Thank you Cachalot, had a lovely day on Sat, and went straight for Doneen Pier, lovely spot, alas no fish, not to worry, and thanks again!

Tried the pier last year ( September) , it was a complete waste of time. Walked round to the little point that you can clearly see
and had fish after fish- mak & pollock to 5 pound ! There is a lovely, sheltered spot with a small sandy beach for lazing away an hour or so or having a pic-nic- ideal for famillies !
