Help,Kerry/dingle 3/6/11

#1 Post by paul skelly »

Hi all, myself and a few mates are head to Kerry for the long weekend,We are staying in Cloghane, I hope to be going after ray, wrasse and pollock or if I could find a Mark for them trigger fish? If any one can point me in the right direction this would be a great help as I have never had the pleasure of fishing in Kerry, bait and rig info would be great too.
Many thanks Paul 

Ive printed off loads of stuff off this site. Hopefully you'll get some PMs off some local lads. Especially if they know there's a few pints in it for them...

Brandon Creek is very close to where ul be staying, Plenty of Wrasse ,Pollock and Conger off it.
Had Triggers off it but they are more consistent at Ferriters cove rocks (45 drive from Cloghane)
You will get Ray off Brandon beach / Gow lane at night.

Yes, trout and bass from the river mouth there. Early morning best IMO. Good spot to trot a sandeel.
Obviously you will need a license for trout and you can't fish for bass until after the 15th June.

Hi paul, theres a guide to loads of marks all around dingle by bob moss. I got it on amazon, and you can get it on ebay. Im heading there in september and dont know the area and i read on here about the book. Its got detailed directions for loads of marks and what sort of fish to target in each mark. Its only 64 pages and written by a local. Fingers crossed it will help.
