Advice on saltwater fly gear?

#1 Post by validoc »

Hi,

Alas its time to broden the horizons and try this saltwater fly fishing - ive spent years driving 6oz leads into the horizon and would like to try something with a bit more finesse.

could anyone recomend half decent rods/reels/lines to get me started on this - its unlikely that i'll use the gear on freshwater, theres a huge range out there and its pretty mind boggling to someone who has never fly fished propoerly before.

Whatever advice you might take make sure that whom you're taking it from knows what they are talking about and have had some degree of experience -its a minefield

might be no harm to try it with somebody before investing guy its a genuine challenge
