Gmac, could you imagine if they fixed up the scaffolding off the head of Glin Pier, some fishing off that then.

All sounds idiotic to me. Why don't they just use the respected polo mint and balloon method to get the bait out there

It's A brilliant idea. Just think as soon as it collapse into a pile on the first storm I'll be able to stand on the shore and fish up the side. Lovely fish holding feature.

Check this out. I witnessed lots of guys doing this in SW Australia. It was effective when trying to access the outer part of shallow reefs. Still reckon you dont need to go to those lengths to get good fishing in Kerry!

Something like that happened me in Wexford. The first time I went out in a boat from the harbour. I didn't know the sandbars and ran aground. I had to hop out of the boat and pull it off the bar. I was about 3 quarters of a mile out at the time. When I got back into the harbour, a bloke told me from the Quay, I looked like Jesus Christ, walking on water pulling a boat.
I don't fish to catch fish. I just like using the gear.
If you think I am narky now, you should hear me when I'm in bad humour.

Sounds dangerous and illegal, you'd be better off building your own pier. Pity we dont have any of those long stilt piers like they have on the English East coast like brighton or blackpool, you can pay to fish off them at night.
