Ballycastle beach 18th April 11

#1 Post by polmac »

People:Me

Duration:19:00 - 21:00

Tide:HW 18:30

Weather:lovely, sunny and no wind

Bait:rag and mackeral

decided to head down to the beach and give it bash seeing as we had some great weather on monday. i hadnt been out in 3 weeks so i was dyning to get out a run and get fishing.

landed down to the beach and found that the water was as flat as a board. as i had rushed out i ended up forgetting my waders but seeing as the water was so calm it wouldnt require wading far - or so i thought!

just like that the water changed and the waves started hammering up the beach! ended up catching me out and near knocking my stand and rod over  teach me for judging the sea

i also ended up forgetting my phone and had nothing to take any pics :x

ended up with 6 flounder, all around the 20cm mark which all took the rag worm, and all returned safely again to the sea. a nice evenings fishing an i met a few local fishermen all out walking the beach who stopped to chat and passed on some usefull info and tips for fishing the beach alot better.
