With the warm weather we've had recently they already seem to be showing up in small numbers. If you've a really good mark for mackerel you could try it around now. Otherwise leave it until the start of June onwards when they show in numbers.

they are there but still not in great numbers,,they seem to be deep still,,,seen a nice few on the local pier today and they were quiet small

Thanks Guys

The local lobster guys tell me they have seen them out deep and there are no sprats that I can see inshore. So I guess with the warm weather things might pick up soon. Here's hoping.

Had a good load of them yesterday in Donegal Bay on the kayaks, 100 yards from the shore. Great timing as the freezer supply had pretty much been exhausted :) Roll on the summer....
Sea Species(25) bass, codling, whiting, turbot, seatrout, stingray, pollock, coalfish, longspine scorpion, ballan wrasse, dogfish, ling, pouting, poor cod, dab, mackerel, smelt, sandeel, launce, bull huss, painted ray, thick lip mullet, golden grey mullet, rock goby.
Fresh Water (2) brown trout, sea trout

It would be better if all Mackeral reports were kept in there as it would make it easier for poster to keep track of things.
