Competition advice!

#1 Post by darrendavitt »

Hi guys looks like I'm going to be starting match fishing and I'm completely new to this area!! :? Has anyone got any general advice on kit needed, general tactics and pretty much everything else really!I'm not looking for anyones secrets or anything like that just some general advice. I don't see myself as being very competitive at the start but if it improves my pleasure fishing catches then it's well worth it in my opinion! :D

your pleasure angling should improve as match fishing forces you to focus on what your doing,
not just cast out and hope for the best, join a good club like SAI etc.
Fish club comps where people have time to talk and give you advice.
theres loads of info on comp tactics on this site etc just search previous threads.
Know your venue and species expected.
Get the best bait for the venue not the easiest to attain at the time etc.
At the begining the basic gear will do and just develope your gear as your fishing developes.
