Plenty of smelt about. Also picked up a fair size herring. Another lad fishing picked up a good size herring too -> had both for dinner, yum.

never had fresh herring but i love kippers yum! a few fish to keep you busy and a free meal and fresh air what more could you want

Never caught a herring off the shore....what bait did he take or do you think it was just the feathers ?

The herring took a small feather...The water was very sandy (due to north westerly?) so was a big surprised to get anything really!
