seats available specimen whitefish, union hall, mon 28/2
I've booked colin Barnes' boat for next monday to fish on the
wrecks and associated marks off the west cork coast.
http://www.whalewatchwithcolinbarnes.com/
the main target species would be specimen haddock, pollack, cod, ling conger coalie etc
i appreciate week days don't suit everybody, but the weather makes
up its own mind when it wants to provide ideal conditions!
the cost to charter the boat to head for the far out wrecks is 550 euro, but
she can comfortably fish 8 or 10 anglers assuming they know what they are doing
the boat departs Reen pier at 08:00am sharp and returns at 20:00pm
Please post below if you are interested in joining the trip

Jayzuss, John, that's really put the sprat among the gudgeon's.How do i explain to the missus the absolute necessity of staying second day in west cork. But the forecast looks promising. I' ll just go and tidy the utility, put away the waders, replace the kitchen blind, and remove the hair from the shower tray, which i find most upsetting as i have been bald for the bones of 10 years. i' ll get back to you.

ive confirmed with colin we're good to go, meeting time 800am reen pier for depart 810,
the boat is not waiting for nobody!!
the status of the herring/mackerel shoals is unknown, so rather that waste a lot of time
chasing them we may fall back to using our own frozen bait

Re: seats available specimen whitefish, union hall, mon 28/2
Great meeting up yesterday, pity about the fishing. The wrecks didn't produce despite the effort Colin made.
Not being use to Charter fishing as I usually fish on my own or other small boats I have to say the value for money and the work rate from Colin was well worth it. Colin had us out from 8am to 8pm. I don't think the man even had a sandwich all day he was that determened to put us amongst fish.
Look forward to meeting up with you all again.
BTW Tony - I will get you sleeping pills for Willie next time

I had to do a double-take when you passed us in the van on the way home Tony .... looked like there was a corpse behind the wheel
At the very least you will have to bring a set of ear muffs so you can get some shut eye next time round

Re: seats available specimen whitefish, union hall, mon 28/2
is was a frustrating day, first we went to the mark which at this time last year produced
many specimen and a new irish record haddock. all we could catch was two small whiting.
maybe they have moved a few hundred meters, maybe they are somewhere else in our 5,000
square mile search area or maybe they ended up in someones cod end.
the next wreck we tried produced a few modest pollack, the best one was around 9lbs,
after that we visited several wrecks where fish could be seen on the finder but couldnt
get hardly any bites at all.
