If you were thinking of Galway you could always take a trip down the Clare direction , you should get a good spread of species, if you head the Clare way drop us a pm and we will give you a hand out

Why would you want to leave Cork ;)

J/k ;) Never really fished outside Cork but I am still amazed by what is on offer in Cork that I have not yet come accross.

This summer I am planning a camping trip to West Cork with my daughter... great fishing down that way, and camping on the beach too.

THink there were some reports from as close as East Cork... mostly from west Waterford....

Although 'technically' you can catch them all around the south coast, they are probably more likely in the colder waters of the East...

I like to swim with them myself, so I can't speak for angling...

I've heard of one. Couldn't tell ya the mark but it was down the west cork direction. Caught on peeler crab. It was one of paul harris's guests that caught it.

Yeh the water temp being a bit warmer down that direction would have something to do with it. Always thought if they were there they would show up as a by catch when fishing for bass with big peeler baits. Good to hear theres been a few caught.

hi JC i think you should go to wexford and pick up some smoothies if you can

there is much better sport from these fish than thornies

they are also more specific to april time anyway

the thornies you can have anytime over in connemara with the right gillie

youll also will pick up a few bass while your smoothie hunting which wont happen when your looking for thornies out in connemara
