Guys what's current thoughts on using a multi on fs rod? Have current technology eyes got good enough to allow multi use with fewer or should mix n match be only done other way round? Or..... Have I got this all wrong? I been a few away from the sport a few years now, appologies

Re: Multi on an fs rod debate
a fixed spool rod has less eyes as they arnt required , due to a multi being held the other way up the line will not run smoothly when under pressure fighting a good fish or haulin in weed and a line break is possible (imagine snapping your line with a 10 lb bass yards from the beach
),most fixed spool rods have fixed reel seats ,normally not much use for multi ,saying this it can be done but why? unless you broke a fixed spool and where stuck whats the point

Multi on an fs rod debate
Ok then but if using a multi rod with a seat rather than coasters I could use it for a fixed spool at a push ( aware of limitations of the eye size) ?
Are seats easy enough to put on instead of coasters?
I ask as I'm limited to the gear I can buy ( starting out again) so if I can have possibility of multi purpose then all good
Or....
Do I get cheapy fs start up n save cash for separate multi n multi rod? In which case a cheapy 12' wud double up for pier etc ???
