how far to cast for codling at killiney beach

I want to go fishing for codling at killiney beach since theres a few been caught but i dont think i can cast far enough for them because everyone says you have to wack your bait out for cod and im only a young (but very good) angler.i can cast out far but not sure if i can cast far enough. how far do you have to cast on that beach to get them. please reply soon. :)

I've caught them at all distances down their. straight out from the car park ,i think, around 40 yards would do you if the tide is flooding in. you might have to cast a little further as the tide starts to drop off. if you go closer to the white house from 20 yards out should do to reach the rough ground.

Cast them short and long, you never know where they are. Better off to cast as far as Cork though.
List 2010. fish

List 2011: less fish

2012: less fish again,

2013: even less fish.
