What way is the fishing in cork harbour the last few days?

#1 Post by evan699 »

I was out for a spin last night and had a look around a few spots. We passed kennedy quay (Pier Head) and had a look at 5 foot way and there was no sign of any anglers. Took a sail across on the ferry and there was only 2 anglers at the wall. There were one or two on monkstown pier but looking at the gear they were using i'd say they weren't up to much. All these spots are usually mobbed and i was planning on heading out to a handy mark tonight for a few casts but is it worth my while? Is there a reason all these marks were empty? Any info is welcome. I'll probably go down that way tonight anyway but i'd just like to know if it was a quiet night or is the fishing dying off due to all the trawlers around the harbor  .

Cheers,
Evan

I passed two anglers on the five foot way last night and they had two nice cod. I assume they had plenty of smaller ones too.

What time was that at pat? I was down there last night with another lad from 6.30 to about 8.30 and we had only one whiting each. There were three other anglers down the way from us and they were having the same results as us. There were a few seals out in front of us so we decided to cut our losses and head home early.
