Newcastle County Down

#1 Post by nomis »

My Brother has just moved to Newcastle, hes told me he is very close to the beach and also there is a pier too.

Does anyone fish these area's and what gets caught?

Also where is the nearest tackle/bait shop?

Might go over for a few days - Brother seems keen to have a go.

HI, i think that tackle shop is called the four seasons. Its on the main street and you have to go to the very back for the fishing gear. Not a bad shop and they are very helpful. During the summer i was in newcastle a few time with the child and they gave me a few marks to go to but they were a bit dangerous to take the kid too so i passed. So if you do get some fish, give us a report, i would like to try some of the marks that the tackle shop game me, just no time at the minute. Goos luck anyway.
Good things come to those who bait.

Hi, my brother was involved in a serious car accident and is now back on his feet and ready to have a go.

He has told me he has spoke to people fishing the harbour wall and beach and has a rough idea of whats going on.

Im hope to go over for a few days in August - what will be around this time of year?

Im going to get him to sign up on here so you might see a few more posts on the area soon.

Theres plenty of mullet down the road at dundrum, at the twelve arches bridge. Ive never fished for mullet myself, but plenty on here have and could advise you.
