Mackerel in Dunmore East

#1 Post by nanor »

Was in Dunmore East for the weekend and got about 40 minutes to fish from the end of the pier using a small wedge lure.
On the second cast I took in a small mackerel which suprised me... I thought it would be far too late in the year for any mackerel to be still inshore.
Is it a late season or am I just mistaken?
Species 2011
Pollack, coalfish, sandeel, pouting, whiting, mackerel
Entries now open for the All Ireland Shore Cod Championships on November 29th hosted by Sea Angling Ireland SAC
