help with reel spares

#1 Post by billy the fish »

Hi guys when fishing on sunday my reel handle flew of into the sea when casting. I recovered it with a treble tied to the end of my rod. But the bit that screws onto the handle when its passed through the reel is missing. Its a shakespeare salt surf reel. Do any of you know where id get a replacement? Ivs searched online , even the shakespeare site but couldnt find spares on there.

I'd say your only chance of getting spares for that reel is if someone has a an old reel that's not wanted. Most reels are throw away items now because it's so difficult to get spares. I used to repair reels at one time and 95% had to be bined or kept for spares because it was impossible to get bits for them.
