Caught off Mullaghmore Co. Sligo

#1 Post by krisreid »

Hi all,

Can you confirm this species - Gotta feelin it's Mullet but didn't expect this in the Atlantic.

Fought like crazy and was 4 and 1/2lb.

Any help is appreciated.

Cheers

Well done krisreid. You got yourself a lovely thick-lipped grey mullet 8) A brilliant fish. They are fantastic fighters, espicially when caught in the open sea where there is plenty of open space allowing them to run and run.

Thank you Very much Kerry. I have caught Mullet before but not like this one and especially in open sea.

@ FisherKing - I was using Sand eel and Rag all day and was catching an endless amout of Plaice and small Turbot. I changed to Mackerel and first cast I caught him.

Cheers for the welcome wishes
