ballycastle pier/harbour

have been chatting to a few people and it seems mixed with regards to whether or not your allowed to fish off this. does anyone actually know if your are or not?
if i was beat i would head down to the pans rock again but theres 3 of us heading down on sat and 2 of my mates have never fished there before

last time i was down i was chatting to the local lobster potters and they said its ok. the only trouble is getting on and off as the ferry company control access and can close the gates while you're still on it. just means you have to clamber around the long way though.

thats sound mate thanks. i will give it a go on sat morning, if the hangover isnt that bad, and sure if i have t walk abit then why not. it may do me good

legally you are not allowed on the pier without the permission of moyle council.we fished it as a club venue and had to write to moyle council every year for access giveing the exact dates so we could get the keys of the big gate.you are not insured if you are on the pier without permission of the council.

i'll be honest, if im fishing of rocks or a pier the last thing i consider is "am i insured for this?"

thats entirley up to you mate.i am speaking from a club point of view with junior anglers also present.

fair enough, i only ever fish on my own or with my dad so would never consider it from your point of view

i ended up on my own that day and decided to head back to the Pans rocks. but it was that windy and blowing into my face i only stuck it out for an hour or so that day.
