Finally caught a bass

#1 Post by master baiter »

People:Just me.

Duration:3 hours. 9.30am to 12.30pm

Tide:Coming

Weather:Reasonable, a bit showery

Bait:frozen squid and razor

Rigs:

Results:3 bass

Report:I have been trying on and off for the last year to catch a bass, and yesterday I hit the jackpot. On my first cast I thought that the weed was bending my rod and decided to check. As soon as i started to reel in I knew that I had a fish. I did not have a clue what I had and was stunned when I saw that it was a bass. My first bass.I was thrilled with this but disappointed that the beach was empty and I had no one to show it to. Returned the fish as it was only about 2-3lbs and set up again. Within 5 minutes I had another bass, this one about 6lbs. About an hour later another fish roughly the same weight.
Sorry no photos but I did not expect to get 3 bass and did not have the camera with me.
Entries now open for the Henry's Tackle Shop All Ireland Shore Smooth Hound Championships on July 18h hosted by Sea Angling Ireland SAC

what a great start, just remember the conditions you got them in and you should have no problem getting more. although i would'nt have thought there would have been much of a surf yesterday
