sonik sk4 10g-20g 8ft spinning rod

Been using this rod for bass lures for the past couple of months. Nice and light especially with a little shimano 3000 spinning reel. Only using it over clean ground where I can wade in and play a fish into hand, its too light for anything else. Have had about 15 fish on it, 2lb-3.5lb, massive craic. Just wondering if anyone else is using this rod and if I can eventually hook into a 6 or 7 pounder will i be taking the splinters of the rod home in a pencil case.
