Alright Folks
I have been planning to have a go at the tope from the shore for a while now but finally committed to this sunday, I have been given a few marks by my boat friends of potential marks, these guys catch tope from the boat on a regular basis in carlingford so their knowledge and marks may prove right, but what I would need is local advice with is tactics and if the marks ive been told produce the goods. One of the boat nuts has made me up a few wire traces to get me started. Any advice would be very welcome or if anyone is interested in joining us on sunday you would be very welcome aswell.

Shore tope fishing in Carlingford
Y'all know me. Know how I earn a livin'. I'll catch this bird for you, but it ain't gonna be easy. Bad fish. Not like going down the pond chasin' bluegills and tommycods. This shark, swallow you whole. Little shakin', little tenderizin', an' down you go. And we gotta do it quick, that'll bring back your tourists, put all your businesses on a payin' basis. But it's not gonna be pleasant. I value my neck a lot more than three thousand bucks, chief. I'll find him for three, but I'll catch him, and kill him, for ten. But you've gotta make up your minds. If you want to stay alive, then ante up. If you want to play it cheap, be on welfare the whole winter. I don't want no volunteers, I don't want no mates, there's just too many captains on this island. Ten thousand dollars for me by myself. For that you get the head, the tail, the whole damn thing.

Re: Shore tope fishing in Carlingford
Hey Julio, i live near Carlingford and fish a lot nearby in Greenore for mackeral for bait. One thing i will say is that there is a lot of water activities in carlingford, canoes etc, and i've never seen anyone fishing there from the shore, i dont even know if it is allowed. And if you go anywhere near greenore the currents is always too strong for any type of bottom fishing. I would try and get some more advice before travelling the distance your coming, even the mackeral fishing has been dismal this year in greenore. Hope this is useful and if you do come, best of luck and i look forward to seeing your report.
Good things come to those who bait.
