Buying lugworm in Clare or Galway

#1 Post by daminim »

:? Morning guys, heading for Galway this afternoon with work and I'm staying in ennis tonight I was going to fish the beach at Spanish point heard it's good for flatties and the odd bass. Need to source some bait today though if anyone here could point me in the right direction that would be great, I won't be digging as I ain't got the time..working all day. Anyhow I will be driving from portlaoise to neenagh to Galway and then on to ennis. so if anyone has bait in those areas or knows where to get it let me know Pleasaee!! :)
thanks
conor.

Bait is a bit of a dilema in the west coast no?!

there is no place i know of where you can buy fresh lug in galway - everyone round here digs their own

i assume its the same down in clare - all the lads i know down that way have never mentioned buying any

your only chance if you cant dig is to go to corrib tackle/duffys and buy some frozen black wraps - if your after the bass, the sandeels and razor work for them down there also - in clare

are you sure you couldnt manage a bit of digging!

Thanks lads, maybe I'm too used to buying worms on the east coast!! Digging I'd love to give it a go, but not today, only down for the night staying in ennis and I'm not that familiar with marks etc so I'm more concerned about buying some bait and focusing on finding a decent mark. If anyone is round ennis direction this eve to throw out a line I'd be delighted to join ye! I think il stick to the sandeel and razor tbh. Now any decent marks lads? Am I right to focus on going to Spanish point?
