Wicklow or wexford

#1 Post by basshunter10 »

Hi Lads,

Much the same as Brian im looking for some decent marks around wicklow or wexford to consider this wknd. I'm new to the beach and its only my second year, I want to add to my species list for the year and for the sea and wonder if anyone could PM me a good mark in either wicklow or wexford that throws up a good chance of a mixed bag. If so, could you give me an idea of what bait, rigs and distance would be most effictive. Second year as i said and ive had a great summer away from lakes and rivers. Even got down to kinsale for day a out :) any fish i catch are returned and any marks are stored in the bank and not on the lip. Cheers

alright Pete, if that's so difficult to figure out I suppose you're better start on the old fags again  no, honestly - what I tried to communicate here, especially in the interest of conservation and protection of future fish stocks it is just NOT ON to recommend fishing for juvenile fish of any kind and I sincerely hope I've made my point clear this time

Where does a response with phrases like "sickening", "eating children" and a sarcastic "great advice there chum" fit in with a perfectly reasonable response to a straightforward question, along with umpteen "twisted evil" smileys?

More to the point, why on earth did you feel the need to hijack the blokes thread with that response? The guy wasnt advocating going out targetting juvenile fish he was answering a question. Leave the smart remarks about not smoking and stuff to one side, you are the one making the daft over the top comments. If you cant make a valid input to a thread without resorting to google or nonsense as above, for the love of god dont bother.

No need for all the drama. I read that as saying there's the chance of catching pups mixed in with the smoothies. More like giving a heads up rather than urging them to be targetted.

Just saw this thread now and had to reply:

Martin I think your bang out of order with that reply it was both unnecessary and completely over the top.

I would personally classify a pup smooth hound as anything under 4lbs. I've just spent the last 2 weeks fishing for smooth hounds in Wexford and the majority of pups which I caught whilst targeting specimens I would hardly class as juvenile fish. Smooth Hounds under 4lbs are completely unavoidable when targeting bigger fish. Bait and hook size don't come into it as they are ferocious when on the feed. I think you owe Larry 90 an apology. I would like to think on reflection you would come to the same conclusion.
