Late august/october shore fishin around sligo ?

hi guys,,.im new to this site.... im from roscommon area,,but spend alot of time around sligo area. just wondering can anybody give me advice on good shore marks around sligo,,for this time of year.... i tried mermaids cove in mullaghmore and the rocks just off the poontoon in mullaghmore, the other day ,and drew a blank on boat occasions. i was distance casting on sandeels and macky strips... any advice would be greatly appreciated,,cheers

Welcome to the site colly, I find the pier & Mermaids cove fishes better in september-October, best baits I would use is Lugworm tipped with Mac or Sandeel in close on a filling tide, should be some nice Flonder about then

thanks for that brian.. ive spent the lasst few weeks scouting out marks around sligo and im just trying to get my bearings if u know what i mean. going to try dunmoran strand next weekend.looks like a promising spot...PS...wheres the best place to dig for lug ?????

Hi Colly. I normally fish around Mermaids in october or november you can get loads of coalies there then. Dumoran or some of the beachs a bit further down should start fishing well in the next few weeks. There is loads of lug to be dug in around Strandhill and Kellystown. PM me and i'll give ya directions to the better beds.
