anyone ever fish poulnasherry bay in clare?
i fished it twice for ray but no luck only one or two dogs.
species 2010:20
wishlist:
cod over 5lbs!
a new match rod!!(accomplised k2 red metal!)

west cork and district sac
best fish 2010: 25lb conger eel

SPECIES 2011:= 2 species of rockling, colaie,codling whiting,pollock,gurnanrd,throback ray,grey gurnard
best fish 11 7 pound thornback ray

What state of the tide did you fish it and where abouts?? It is a good mark but it takes some time to find the rays which may seem to be isolated in one spot.

i fished low tide around the corner on the left

Right place right time, I guess the fish just didn't know it. Did you try moving up and down the shore?
I haven't heard of that many good reports from there this year and the fishing has been good on my own doorstep so I haven't been down there since the middle of July.
Keep trying. It seems to be better on the bigger tides but that can cause it's own problems and don't go there after a lot of rain.

always found the place full of weed and crabs, had one bite in 5 attempts there for ray, where the wind is blowing from seems to be very important.. ie you want to have it at your back
