Wicklow cliffs

#1 Post by lasercat »

Hi all,

Just a quick questions regarding fishing from cliffs. I have found a decent looking bass mark but the cliffs are about 40 ft. above the water. If I was lucky enough to catch a fish, how would I haul it up and then release it? I know people fish from these cliffs but i am a little confused about actually getting the fish up the cliff and back down again. I'm sure the same methods apply to any kind of cliff fishing.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Try and get a drop net, basically a landing net with a length of rope attached to it, My heart wouldn't be able ror haulin a big bass up a cliff without a drop net :D the fish should be able to be put back in the net and released if you dont fancy bass for dinner

I don't see the enjoyment and sport in fishing that high up to be honest especially for Bass where I think its much more enjoyable to be close to the water plus it sounds a bit dodgy to me, but then I don't have much of a head for heights but good luck if you try it and be careful of course and let us know how it goes.

Thanks lads, I'm gonna give the cliffs a miss, they are a bit awkward/dangerous.
