downhill, castlerock fri 13th

#1 Post by carp angler »

People: myself

Duration: 4-5 hours

Tide: near high

Weather: windy

Bait: rag

Rigs: 2 hook flappers

Results: a tiny crab

Report: busting to get out fishing so went to downhill (in the hope of some bass i guess) set up between the temple and the entrance to the beach. cast one rod with a wee lob from the shore, and waded out abit and put the other rod at distance.. .continued this all nite, and even tried using a plug, got a tiny crab
moved round onto the barmouth thinking i'll do a couple of hours of the tide going out, no good, wind was too strong. so packed up and went home. . .tonight is looking good weather wise tho

Keep an eye out round the barmouth at night. I have heard recently that someone is netting for bass under cover of darkness. There are a few locals looking to have a word in his shell.
