should a swivel be used

#1 Post by macka1 »

Bought some of the weighted jig heads today to use on some rubber eels etc and going to use a light rod and reel. Will be using 15 pound line and was wondering do i connect the main line straight to the jig head or put a split ring on the jig head and connect to that ? also do i need to use a swivel? thought mabe not because its not a spinner and would use one for sure with them,thanks...

not entirely neccesary to be honest but i'd recommend one. it is handy for quickly changing lures when one isnt working. as well as this for some lures that working on a spinning or revolving action they stop the main line twisting and getting kinked. a size 6 or 8 swivel is perfect, dont go too big on the size you dont want retard any action the lure might have

best advice for catching species is girls dont like fishing and its hard to catch fish when you sell all your gear'
