Arklow South Beach

#1 Post by southaussie »

Hi everyone just thaught i would put up a quick post. Took my twin sons fishing today arrived to an empty south beach around 11:30 am, nice sunny weather, tide dropping and slightly choppy conditions. Baited up the first rod and threw it out, wanting to show the boys the art of fishing i baited the second rod with some yellow sticker cooked king prawns thanks to a local supermarket and some leftover mackeral. reeled in the first rod to find a small 20cm flounder and a couple of whiting, tripple header the boys were thrilled. I picked up the second rod after seeing a small bite and started to reel it in felt like a fish allright, allerted the boys and they greeted it at the beach a nice 34cm flounder, a few more flounder and whiting, a weaver fish and then things went quiet as the tide went out.
A nice day out had by all, all fish released bar the big flounder whom will be joined for dinner by a number of chips

best advice for catching species is girls dont like fishing and its hard to catch fish when you sell all your gear'

Nothing more enjoyable than seeing a report showing pics of the next generation catching, he'll remember that for years to come......

Important for the sport also....
