Is bigger better?

#1 Post by col »

Hi again. I'm planning to buy the shimano mini tele spinning rod soon. The tackle shop currently has the one I want in 8ft but for an extra tenner I could get him to order in the 9ft version. The question I have is will the extra foot and ten euro bring any more advantage to the rod?
Thanks and tight lines to all for '06.

it may help get a little more distance whereas if u are to be spinning from a tight space with restricted casting room the 8ft may suit better?

The short answer is yes. The main advantage is better distance. It will also help to get a fish in over weed. I would only use a short rod in a boat or confined area. Having said that I puke every time I go near a boat. I think most people would use a 10 ft plus for beach or rock spinning. Good luck with the rod.
