Any hints lads?

Hi guys , old novice here. Im from the belfast area and am looking forward to fishing on eigther saturday or sunday. Im only started saltwater fishing and have bought a 10ft ron thompson rod and a penn silverado reel , line etc and 2 hook flappers. I was wondering where is the best place for a bit of sport at the moment. A bit of float fishing or bottom, not too far out lol. Have been trout and salmon fishing for years, so not totally useless. I have read the reports and a pier harbour, or easy to walk to mark would be good, but the names of the marks are unfamiliar to me. I,ll be alone as my son is working this weekend [he is another novice].

Hi,

Donaghadee harbour is always worth a go, especially if you have some rag or lug for bait. Can be fished on the float for pollock, coalies, wrasse and on the bottom for some flatties and dog fish.

ps will only have mackrel and sandeel etc unless i can get rag at short notice from the tackle shop.
